Combining demanding and improvement indices the improvement diagram can be developed, which indicate the expected output of the improvement efforts given that high prices of improvement indices mean higher effectiveness for actions concerning these criteria.
The improvement diagram is divided into quadrants according to demanding (high/ low), and effectiveness (high/low) that may be used to rank improvement priorities:
